Lonnie Smith: Officer-President and CEO, School Representative,
Advisory Committee Member, MT, C.O.S.S., C.S.S.T., C.S.S.S. Lonnie
is an NCCER certified Master Trainer and a Construction Site Safety
Technician Master Instructor. Lonnie first got into the industry in
1998 making melt-blown “sorbents”, and quickly climbed to the
position of ‘Operations Manager’. Lonnie has worked in the
turnaround industry as a third party contractor and supervisory
positions.
Kimberly Smith: Officer-Corporate Secretary and Treasurer,
Administrative and School Director, School Representative, Advisory
Committee Member. Kim has 17 years experience in Administration and
Accounting. Kim manages all aspects of the administration office
from student registration to accounting. Her attention to detail and
organization is second to none. She has worked at DuPont, Cloeren,
Brock Enterprises, Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED), and
Gulf Coast Weld Spec.
Terry Messenger: Safety Instructor, MA, CHSM, OHST, N.C.C.E.R.
Master Trainer, OSHA 500 Instructor in the Safety Department. Terry
is the definitive Safety Man. After more than ten years teaching
safety classes at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, he
joins us to teach the CSST initially and a vast array of other
N.C.C.E.R. classes we will be offering soon.
Brian Babcock: Senior Welding Instructor, Advisory Committee Member,
C.S.S.T. Brian brings with him "30 years plus "of Welding & Safety
experience at refineries such as Exxon Mobil, Motiva, Invista,
DuPont, and Valero. He is experienced in off shore rigs, Coast Guard
Certified. He is also certified by the National Center for
Construction Education and Research (N.C.C.E.R.) as a Master
Trainer, as well as OSHA. Brian has the knowledge and understanding
that makes a great craftsman a great teacher.
Jerry Smith: Welding Instructor, Advisory Committee Member. Jerry
has 37 years in the Welding craft. His experience includes welding
on boiler and heater tubes, high pressure gas and steam lines,
towers and coke drums, stainless steel pipe, socket welds and all
alloys. His structural welding experience includes welding of pipe
racks, pipe shoes, handrails, walk ways, and hangers. His welding
techniques include GTAW, SMAW, Arc gouging, MIG and gas cutting
torch techniques. He has worked in refineries such as Gulf Oil,
Chevron, DuPont, Huntsman, Exxon Mobil, Motiva, Fina, and Air
Products.
Lawren Comer: Office Secretary, School Representative. Lawren
handles student registration and is the editor of our monthly
newsletter. She assists in administrative duties, including tracking
student’s daily attendance and accounting. She is an integral part
of our staff and handles her duties in a professional manner.
