Safety Star Industrial, Inc. is open to all persons regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex. Applicants: must be at least 18 years old to start a course or class; must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English; must be fit enough to climb a 10-foot ladder and carry a 30-pound fire extinguisher for a distance of 50 feet on flat ground.

Combination Welding Course 1100 This course is comprised of Welding basics and TIG and MIG welding classes to include Shielded Metal Arc welding (SMAW) ‘stick’, Gas Tungsten Arc welding (GTAW) ‘TIG/heliarc’, and Gas Metal Arc welding (GMAW) ‘MIG’. The student will be able to weld plate metals & pipe to include V-Groove-Close, V-Groove-Open, and 6 G (Arkansas Bell). At the completion of this course the student will possess the knowledge and experience to walk onto a job and be capable of welding plate or pipe at an acceptable level of competency, also to use a torch and grinder as well as other tools of the trade at a proficient skill level. They will possess the basic knowledge of PPE and standard safety practices (and know how to utilize that knowledge). The student will be familiar with the inner workings of a refinery turnaround or shutdown job and will have been exposed to turnaround experiences and scenarios.

Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST) Course 2101 *Prerequisites for this Safety course are: 1 year in the field in any turnaround position or Safety Attendant Basics class as well as the guidelines stated in the “Admissions Policy” of the Safety Star Industrial, Inc. catalog.
This course covers all aspects of on-the-job safety for the construction industry forming the basis for a well rounded understanding of safety as it applies to this job perspective. Divided into two parts, the first half covers Introduction to Safety; Hazard Recognition, Evaluation and Control; Risk Analysis and Assessment; Inspections, Audits and Observations; Employee Motivation; Site-Specific ES&H Plans; Emergency-Action Plans, JSAs (Job Safety Analysis) and TSAs, (Task Safety Analysis) Safety Orientation and Training; Work Permit Policies; Confined-Space Entry Procedures; Safety Meetings; Accident Investigation: Policies and Procedures; Accident Evaluation: Data Analysis; Recordkeeping;
OSHA Inspection Procedures; ES&H (Environmental Safety & Health) Data Tracking and Trending, and Environmental Awareness. Safety Attendant Basics Class 2150 *Prerequisites for this Safety class are the guidelines as stated in the “Admissions Policy” of the Safety Star Industrial, Inc. catalog.
This is a beginner’s class for Safety Attendants. It covers a wide expanse of information form walking through the turnstiles to leaving at the end of the day. The student is given all the rules and practices (and the logic behind them) that are required for a safe workplace. With hands-on training, they are shown how to set up the jobs they will be responsible for. Tower climbing exposure, scaffold experience, fire extinguisher training, working at a ‘hole’…all are part of the extensive knowledge-imparting training provided with this class. The student will be competent in setting up and performing any task normally required of a Safety Attendant. Employment can be found at any worksite where new or maintenance jobs are being performed or at any industrial construction company.

Hazwoper 40 Class 2200 This course is 40 hours long and lasts 1 week. This course meets the requirements for CDL licensing. It covers Hazwoper Regulations Overview, Hazardous Materials Classifications, Toxicology, Identification of Hazardous Materials, Principles of Respiratory Protection, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Overview of the Principles of Decontamination, Introduction to Scene Control, Planning, Introduction to Air and Environmental Monitoring, Physical Hazards, and Tabletop Exercise-putting it all together in the real world.
